My Story

Ella on 8/7/2026 in Forte White

When Ella was spotted wandering near Fort White, she was in desperate need of help. Severely malnourished and underweight, with painful skin issues and heartworm disease, it was clear she had been struggling for some time. Thanks to an incredible community effort, Ella was brought safely into the care of the Humane Society of North Central Florida.

Despite everything she has endured, Ella’s gentle spirit shines through. She seems grateful simply to be safe, greeting her caregivers with a soft wag of her tail as she settles in and begins her long road to recovery.

Ella has a lot of healing ahead of her. She needs nutritious food to safely regain her strength, veterinary care for her skin, and heartworm treatment before she can be ready for the next chapter of her life.
