Not every animal’s journey looks the same. Some pets need extra medical care, behavioral support, enrichment, or daily comfort before they are ready to find a loving home.
Your support through one of our special care programs provides the individualized attention animals need to heal, gain confidence, and thrive. Donations directly help vulnerable pets receive lifesaving treatment, training, comfort items, and compassionate care while they wait for their second chance. You’ll receive updates and photos of the pet you’ve helped, along with the joy of knowing you played a meaningful role in their journey to a brighter future. 💙
Path to Adoption
This option is designed for animals who may fall into the “harder to adopt” category. Together, our animal care, veterinary, and adoption teams identify specific needs, resources, and promotional efforts that will help that individual animal find the right home. This one-time donation of $350 replaced our adoption fee sponsorship program, as we found that traditional fee sponsorships were not always in the best interest of the animal and sometimes unintentionally created negative perceptions.
Medical Care
Many of our animals require special medical care, and at times these needs are urgent or require outside veterinary support. Donations toward medical care help us provide lifesaving treatments and ensure animals receive the care they need to recover and thrive.
Daily Care
Some pets in our care have special dietary needs or require additional day-to-day support. Donations toward daily care help provide prescription diets, supplements, enrichment items, and specialized care to keep them healthy and comfortable while they await adoption.
Behavioral Evaluation & Training
Occasionally, one of our dogs may need professional behavioral training or evaluation to help them overcome challenges and give them the best possible chance at a successful adoption. Support in this area helps provide individualized training plans and professional guidance.
Heartworm Treatment
Unfortunately, more than half of the dogs that come into our care require heartworm treatment. Treating heartworm disease is a lengthy and costly process, averaging around $750 per dog. Donations toward heartworm treatment help cover medication, veterinary care, monitoring, and recovery support so these dogs can become healthy and adoption-ready.
